In this lesson, students will learn about photomontage and how it can be used to produce activist art. They will begin by viewing and learning about one of the pioneers of political photomontage, Hannah Hoch. Students will conduct a series of brainstorming and research activities to help generate ideas for an original activist artwork. They will be taught how to use a variety of selection tools in Photopea so that they can cut apart and reassemble digital imagery to communicate their idea. Finally, they will critique one another's activist photomontage works on a Padlet.
